One hundred and twenty two pounds. If you are eating your usual, healthy diet, and you are trying to lose weight, then, yes, you’re going to lose weight. If you are overweight, and this is not an illness, then weight loss will be slow compared to eating healthy.
We know that the way we eat matters. There were studies from the 70s when there were more calories in more calories, and they were telling Americans that if you eat less calories that you can eat a whole lot more! That was the 1980s, before they changed the way they looked at diet and it was no longer a good thing… and it led to obesity! It hasn’t stopped. So you see, it’s not so easy. It’s hard to lose weight. It’s hard to achieve healthy weight. It’s hard to lose the extra weight.
This was a very popular diet, a very popular way to eat, which was eating a lot and eating it a lot quickly. Then it turned out that the weight loss was not sustainable. And so, to get the weight back off, it was needed to eat healthier, but that made eating even more calories. So, it’s harder.
I’m always talking about this, and when I do I say, when I talk about it, I’m talking about the people on the streets at the train station… the poor people, and some of the people from New York. I’m talking about the people on the street and I say, “You have to be on your feet! You have to be like me and eat healthy!” Because the next time, you better have better than this. (laughs)
