It didn’t stop there.
The next step was for this project to be built. A team had been assembled, and their efforts were beginning. After two months of constant development efforts, we took the first steps and began designing the project. The next phase saw the project designed and laid out. By that time, we had an idea of design concepts on a paper that included a 3D print, CAD drawings and 3D models.
When we approached this project, we had the following goals:
• To create a product we are happy with.
• To avoid a design that is simply a derivative of the last game.
• To have a design that fits the theme of the franchise better.
• To not have a design that would compromise the game.
We decided there were three important design considerations we wanted to address in our design:
To avoid a design that is simply a derivative of the last game (which may have been one of your main design arguments for the franchise in the first place ). To make sure everything works well. To create a design that could serve as a basis for our future design.
We wanted something more than just an original concept. So to make sure we were moving towards the most important goals, we developed our design through a process of iterative development .
The iterative production cycle began in earnest on August 2015 – right before a large tournament which was the main focus of the team for most of the rest of the year. So we had the following iteration:
Initial Idea – “The first concept for a superhero game that utilizes a 3D printer”
– “The first concept for a superhero game that utilizes a 3D printer” Game Design – “How we can incorporate a 3D printer into the game”
