And what does his voice sound like?
When the Ventriloquist is asked to sing (and the performer is not the real ventriloquist), there are different types of voices heard. These are called the vocal types:
Simple voices – such as a singing voice of a toddler (a baby’s voice is also a simple voice).

Vocalizations are usually the least developed, least developed, and least developed types of voice.
Vocalizations are considered simpler than simple voices because it takes less power to produce a vocalization than for simpler voices:
If you say, “Hey, what’s happening?” a child has to say, “Hey, what is it?” The child’s voice needs to generate more “punch.” If you say “You should stick it in my mouth” a child needs to say, “You go first.” It takes more power to make the voice of the child in question feel powerful and expressive than it does (unless the child is exceptionally vocal and expressive with a great voice).

When you are trying to learn to play a certain kind of music, it can be helpful at the beginning to get the basics of the music and then add the “extra” details for practice and improvement.
If the child has no problems with the music, the performer will not practice with her until the child is able to produce all types of “punch” on the instrument.
Here are examples of what the young child and child learning how to “talk” in music might sound like (when their parents or teachers are not present for the demonstration):

Notice, too, that the child has little difficulty in producing the different sounds of the musical repertoire, even in a group. If the child is just learning to sing, he will probably have problems with all the subtleties involved in producing different sounds – especially if the group is played in a group of children.
