Bennett and Grande made up in 2009.
“I was very surprised that they got back together so quickly, and I feel incredibly lucky we became friends so fast,” she is quoted as saying in an April interview with the US magazine.
The duo became intimate during an MTV performance in November 2009.
But the singer is currently engaged to fiance Sam Fairclough-Wu, and Bennett’s family claim he is engaged to his long-term partner, who is not listed on the singer’s Twitter account.
The singer has been married to David Furnish since January 2011.
On Wednesday (8 July), he tweeted a picture of his new engagement ring.

A British man has been freed after a year in prison in Venezuela for holding a fake Venezuelan passport, the country’s state prosecutor has said.
Zackary Edwards, 20, was released from a jail in Caracas on Friday, his home country’s President Nicolas Maduro told reporters, and will go on to learn English.
Edwards, who was jailed in 2015 for illegally holding an expired passport, was granted parole last month, Maduro said, adding, “It’s a new day.”
Edwards had been jailed after posting pictures over social media showing him posing next to a fake Venezuelan passport bearing a name such as “Alex”.
Edwards, from Cumbria, was arrested shortly after a photo of him posing in London with a Venezuelan passport appeared on social media.
Edwards had been out on bail for his role in a fake bank robbery, and was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in 2015.
A judge said he had only been charged with stealing the money from a bank in Manchester in January.
Prosecutors said the British man had travelled to Colombia with the fake Venezuelan passport, which was allegedly used to enter Venezuela, on April 5.
He did not have permission to be in the country.
Authorities also said he was being detained in connection with a number of other criminal offences.
