Who is the richest white rapper?

Drake.

1. “The Motto (Lyrics),” “Work”

It’s hard to imagine Drake making the top three, but if someone told me back when “Work” first dropped he would’ve been pretty thrilled.

When asked about the song’s meaning, the man who would become one of the biggest rappers of the 21st century said it was about his dad: “He’s like my brother. I was like, ‘Oh, my daddy got in trouble.’ The song is about my past, my past, but at the same time it’s a message for all people.”

2. “Hotline Bling,” “One Dance”

Drake made his first appearance on our list a while back, when he opened up for Kendrick Lamar at the 2009 Grammys. To commemorate this big moment, he dropped a remix of Lamar’s smash “Alright” featuring Lil Wayne.

A year later, the two reunited in a remix for “Hotline Bling.” What struck us was how well this one was remixed. “The original is so damn good!” said Drake. “The one thing I have in common with Lil Wayne is that we both came from the Bay Area. [The remix] just made me think the Bay can be the Bay.”

Drake also said he was “so excited” to do a version for Beyoncé and Jay Z, who recently released the super-hit “Formation.” “I was just thinking back on how amazing it would be to be able to be with all my friends Beyoncé, Jay Z and these amazing artists,” he said. “To put you right in the middle of our world, let’s take our time on this and just have this be our thing.”
