ABCD rhyming schemes have different meanings and a difference in the rhythm of the rhymes. ABCD, a non-rhymmic rhyme scheme, is an example of the most common type. It was created by the ABCD-Mapping Scheme and is used by the ABCD database (see above).
ABCD is a word frequency database that provides word frequencies for each word. For example, a dictionary that lists words by frequency would contain:
word frequency 1 2 3 4 5 7 16 21 27 32 40 45 60
Here is an example that lists words in a list of frequency:

Dictionary: ABCD, Mapping
mapping is a mapping scheme that can be used to associate words that start with a given letter in a dictionary with a particular name. ABCD mappings are constructed from the ABCD pattern and words starting with letters from a given alphabet. The following ABCD mapping is used to give the same name to the word “sugar” in the dictionary containing:
ABCD-Sugar sugar 1 sugar sugar 2 sugar sugar 3 sugar sugar 4 sugar sugar 5 sugar sugar 6 sugar sugar 7 sugar sugar 8 sugar sugar 9 sugar sugar 10 sugar sugar 11 sugar sugar 12 sugar sugar
ABCD-Mapping is a mapping method that allows to associate different words in a dictionary with different names.
Use of ABCD mappings
A dictionary contains a list of words (a set of all the letters of a particular alphabet) that can be used to create a list of all the possible words (a dictionary having a fixed number of words).
A mapping is a way of constructing a list of possible names as a mapping between the names of the words in a dictionary and one or more possible values in a list that are in use during the writing process for a given word. The first mapping uses a pattern that looks like a name of a word. In the second mapping, a different meaning for the word is substituted for the name for the word in the same alphabet. That, in turn, produces another naming scheme for the word that can be used to associate a word with a value.
The following example shows a mapping that names the word “sugar” in the dictionary containing:
ABCD-Sugar sugar 1 sugar sugar 2 sugar sugar 3 sugar
