Yes, as of now there is a free Lightroom 4 Professional ($50) upgrade.
It is good for a small and light project or for occasional use on a camera (like the Nikon 50mm f1.8) and it has no manual controls. So how easy is Lightroom 4 to learn?
Very hard to learn and a lot of learning requires lots of practice and feedback from your friends or mentors. It is good to know how to learn, but the only way to learn is to do it. I really recommend starting from a really strong beginner’s image.
The best way to learn is the way I recommend. Use a good beginner’s image, and try to pick up the editing and blending techniques over time. The best way to learn is the way I recommend. Use a good beginner’s image, and try to pick up the editing and blending techniques over time.
We can discuss this all day, but it is worth repeating and here again: there are two different ways to learn to use Lightroom – learning from your peers and learning from your mentors (either through online or in-person workshops)
Lightroom is so well made that you should spend at least 3 or more years in it. It takes time, and you must make good use of the free version – a huge value, as is the free subscription.
If there is any place other than the free Lightroom that I can recommend, it would be the new Lightroom Academy, which is just what I am describing and is excellent.
What is the difference between Lightroom Ultimate and Lightroom Classic?
In both versions of Lightroom you’ll find many changes, improvements and bug fixes (as most software updates are), but a few changes stand out with Classic being the biggest and the ultimate version.
One of the biggest and most important changes from your humble Lightroom 4 Basic editor to the Pro version is the addition of the “New” feature. “New” allows you to save every edit and every adjustment you made in your previous version of Lightroom in a single edit and it will be visible in your history and a separate column in a new toolbar. This tool will enable you to revert back any previous edits you made to the new version without undoing anything!
In my opinion the biggest addition coming from the New feature is the ability to change the resolution and file size of your exported images at any time within an image. This gives you great control and flexibility with
