When I was 11 years old, I had a guitar for about 5 weeks, which was the minimum recommended time for someone with a musical IQ. But, as with all things in my life, I had to change. By the time I was 14 I had gotten very good at fingerpicking, which is one of the fastest rhythms to learn. And by 16, I was in the top 5% of guitarists for fingerpicking.

Do you think you have any comments, thoughts, or lessons for people who like to write music? What do you think guitar should be about, and what can it do to move the musical genre forward? What would be the benefits of writing music that way?
I feel like every time I play something else, the music is going to sound completely different. It makes it very important to me that every time you play something else…you feel it. It’s a lot harder than writing another song. I guess, it just depends on what you want to put in it and how you want to put it in it. I guess the biggest thing I would say in writing music with guitar would be…don’t force it. Use some of this as music and
